Programs
Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley enriches our whole community by making homeownership affordable and attainable by providing important services to Washtenaw County residents:
Home Ownership Program
Our Home Ownership Program sells newly renovated, energy-efficient homes to local individuals and families with low incomes using an affordable mortgage. We bring together community members, volunteers, and sponsors to renovate/build homes and transform futures for our partnering families.
Home Improvement Programs
Our Home Improvement Programs serve two important purposes in our community: keeping families in their homes by reducing energy and maintenance costs and decreasing the energy consumption of our community as a whole. Home Improvement Programs include: Refrigerator Replacement Program, Furnace Test & Tune Program, and Critical Home Repair.
Community Development
Our work goes beyond the brick and mortar of the houses we renovate. Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley partners with residents and businesses in Gault Village, Ypsilanti Township to make their community an even better place to live and work. We do this by facilitating and providing support for community planning and organization work within the neighborhood.
Aging in place
Our Aging in Place Home Improvement Program is built around the principle of providing older adults with improvements and modifications to help them age safely and comfortably in their home. Older adults who participate in the program receive repairs that make their homes safe, lower their utility bills, and give them peace of mind while working with a trusted partner.
"I can say with all my mind and heart that I’m so thankful for the group of people who work for and formed Habitat for Humanity, the many people behind the scenes, and the ones I personally met and have contact with. Thank you so much for making it available for me to obtain a home."
Mr. Curry, Habitat Homeowner
