Meet Eden!

My name is Eden Simby. I was born and raised in Ann Arbor. I work at Domino’s headquarters as a coordinator for our Pizza Concierge program. Most of my immediate family reside in Ann Arbor and I am a mother of a son who is an absolute joy.

I first learned of the Habitat for Humanity Home Owner-ship Program many years ago, through a close friend who was part of the program. I was later reintroduced to the program when my son was younger however at that time, buying a home seemed to be an overwhelming process and was not on my radar.

I have been renting apartments in Ann Arbor for a few years now and although my experience has been a positive one, I knew that with a growing child, we needed more space and the freedom for him to move around in his home, freely. In addition to the need of an environmental change, the constant rise in the cost of living has been on mind.

In the summer of 2020, I decided to apply for the Home Ownership Program through Habitat for Humanity and it has been a great experience. I have built relationships with partner families, staff members, and have learned a lot of lifelong skills.

Being able to participate in the rehabilitation of homes and witness families step into homeownership has been awesome. Becoming a homeowner is a huge blessing. I’m thankful that this program exists and I look forward to making great memories with family and friends in our new home.

Eden’s home is sponsored by the 2021 Women Build supporters presented by the James A. and Faith Knight Foundation. To learn more about Women Build, click here.
