Meet the Patterson Family

“My name is Sharese Patterson. I am a mother of three young adults and one child. Jason, who is 21 years old, Ayana who is 17, Deshawn who is 16, and Keris, who is 9. We are a family that has definitely had our struggles. Becoming a homeowner and being able to give my kids some stability is a blessing.

I have always wanted to own my own home. I have been a nursing assistant for 13 years and am currently working at St. Joe’s hospital as a patient care tech. I am in the process of going back to school to get my nursing degree.

I am a very proud mother of amazing kids, and they deserve the best. My son Jason loves music and helps in our community. My daughter Ayana was just accepted to Eastern Michigan University. My son Deshawn is in the 11th grade and has a 4.0 grade point average. Deshawn has come a long way. He has a heart disease and had three open-heart surgeries by the time he was two years old. My baby, Keris, is in the 4th grade. He has high-functional autism and is one of the most lovable kids I know. I am proud to be his mom. I love my kids and having a home to call our own is so important and deserving of my family.

I want to thank Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley and everyone who is involved in making this dream come true.”

Thank you to longtime partner Adient and the 2021 Catholic Build partners for sponsoring Sharese’s home. In 2020, Adient provided $40,000 in funding to help renovate Sharese’s home, and 143 Adient volunteers provided 929 volunteer hours to help with 12 home build projects during the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, our Catholic Build congregations partner together to raise funds and provide volunteer support to complete Sharese’s home!
