Meet La'Shun Cooper
“My name is La’Shun Cooper, and I was born in Ann Arbor, Mich. At the age of 2, I relocated to Texas where my grandparents raised me until I was an adult.
When both of my grandparents passed away, I decided to move back to Michigan at the age of 31 to fulfill my dreams. My first dream was to go to college, so I enrolled at Eastern Michigan University and obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology. My second dream was to become a homeowner. My grandparents were homeowners, and I knew that one day I wanted to own a home.
Through Habitat, I am making this dream come true!”
La’Shun’s house is sponsored by Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley’s long-time Corporate Partner, Masco Corporation. The global leader in design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and build products has supported our local affiliate since 2010. Throughout the years, Masco businesses have donated countless products and services, offered many volunteer hours from employees on our work sites and provided more than $260,000 in funding. Thank you, Masco, for continuing to partner and support the need of affordable homeownership in our community! Picture below taking prior to COVID-19 pandemic.
